I've got a Dell P2217 monitor and I'm trying to connect a Macbook to it from the laptop's HDMI output to the monitor's HDMI input. I've tried it on two different Macbooks, but the monitor says it's not receiving a signal. I've tried holding the power button on the monitor for 10+ sec with everything unplugged and resetting the macbook settings (command-option P R). I haven't tried another HDMI cable, so that could be the issue, but are these even compatible to begin with?

While I understand the Mac OS isn't officially supported by Dell, it would still be good to know if and when a future firmware update for the U2718Q will correct this problem permanently. We simply check the U2718Q drivers page. As of today, the only firmware update was M2B102. Which could only be run from the Windows operating system.
