The IG-86 Sentinel Droid is a popular assassin droid featuring a recognizable bipedal design with a long cylindrical head holding multiple photosensors. It is capable of wielding almost any weapon type and is known to be unpredictable.

Draped in scraps of clothe, IG-86 Sentinel Droid is more clothed than the typical IG-86 Sentinel Droid. The bones of animals, coming in various shapes and sizes, have been strung together and placed upon IG-86 Sentinel Droid in an effort to create a more imposing — or misleading — appearance.

IG-RM thug droids were popular with gangsters, including Lothal's Cikatro Vizago, and commonly used as enforcers. Secretly revived in 16 ABY, they began production in 17 ABY under the aegis of the Outer Rim Manufacturing company, all production secretly being diverted to the Sith Covenant.
