Ck2 How To Convert Religion

In Crusader Kings 3, religion is a fundamental mechanic. Every king and kingdom have faith in the game. The religions of the kingdoms and rulers are a critical point in determining the relations between countries. Therefore, if you want to rule the world, you must attach importance to your kingdom and ruler’s religion.

If taken, this decision will allow a character to go through a short event chain during which you might become enamored enough with Hellenic mythology to decide to secretly convert to it and start your own Society of Hellenes. Whatever you wish to do after that in order to spread the religion will be up to you. After the start of the game, select the Theology focus, give a Sadaqa, go to Mecca and observe Ramadan, which will allow the accumulation of 250 piety, which will allow the secret conversion to Judaism with holy site of Judaism in Jerusalem. After conversion and foundation of secret cult, select the Business focus and send steward to collect taxes. I don't know if this is true or not but it seems to me that culture and religion conversion are quicker the lower the population - empty nomad provinces seem to immediately become culture/religion of their masters almost immediately. I can't see you having the option, but if there was any way to burn the lot to cinders that might work.

Let’s take a look at how to change religion in Crusader Kings 3.

How To Change Religion In Crusader Kings 3

You can change the religion of your ruler and kingdom in the game. Thus, you can diplomatically develop new relations and establish new allies Faith points are all you need to change your religion. If you have enough faith points, you can change religion by following the steps below:

Step 1: Press the “Religion” tab.

Step 2: Click the “Other Faiths” button.

Step 3: Select the religion you want and click on it.

Step 4: Press the “Convert the Faith” button.

Step 5: Click the “Convert the Faith” button again.

It’s that simple. You can now establish new alliances and friendships by converting to a different religion. Also, there are some points you need to be aware of when converting religion. The most important of these is that you have relationships that will be affected by your conversion.

Conversion may not always be welcome by some people. This affects your bilateral relations. This is also present in Crusader Kings 3, and some of your diplomatic ties and relations with your vassals will be negatively affected by your conversion. You can see this on the page that opens when you click on the religion of your choice. At this point, you need to make a profit and loss account. If you believe that you can build better alliances due to the conversion, you can easily change your religion.

As long as you pay attention to this point, you will have taken a definite step towards world domination.

How to Change the Religion of a Province

The religion of a province can be changed very easily (no need for events), with the province_religion [Province ID] [Religion ID] command. You'll need two things to use this command:

Religion
  • The province ID of the province you wish to change the religion of, to put in the place of [Province ID]. You can find this on our province ID list.
  • The religion ID of the religion you wish to change the province's to, to put in the place of [Religion ID]. You can find this on our religion ID list.

For an example, we'll use the religion ID for Catholicism, which is catholic and the province ID for Paris, which is 112. Knowing those are the two IDs we need, the command to change the religion of Paris (France) to Catholicism would be:

province_religion 112 catholic

How to Change the Religion of a Character

The religion of a character in Crusader Kings 2 can, like the religion of a province, also be changed very easily. Changing the religion of a character is done with the religion [Character ID] [Religion ID] command. To use this command, you must:

  • Replace [Religion ID] with the ID of the religion to wish to change the character's to. See our religion IDs page for a list of these.
  • If you're changing the religion of a character that isn't you (i.e. another character's religion), you'll need to replace [Character ID] with the ID of the character you wish to change the religion of. See how to find character IDs for help.

For example, the religion ID for Orthodox is orthodox. To change the religion of your own character to Orthodox, you'd simply replace [Religion ID] with orthodox and omit the [Character ID] part. So, the below command would change your character's religion to Orthodox:

religion orthodox
